Im looking to expand Avery's library. He loves books! Im looking for some good suggestions. Recently we checked this one out from the library. The illustrations are great! I dont mind reading it 20 times in a row, well maybe not 20 more like 10. Ya I could read it 10 in a row. Do you have any 10 in a row books?

I really like Flotsam by David Weisner. The illustrations are awesome.
Davis' favorites are "Where The Wild Things Are" or "The Little, The Big Hungry Bear, And The Red Ripe Strawberry"
Some of our favorites are "I saw an Ant of the Railroad Track", "Sheep in a Jeep," and "Hooway for Wodney Wat," "Ten Apples up on Top," and "Snowmen at Night"
That was supposed to be "I saw an ant ON a railroad track," oops.
I just read Chicken Little to Soph about 4 or so times this morning, it's a naptime ritual too. I like the way she says Goosey Loosey, and she points out every time that she doesn't have a tail, and I tell her every time that I have a tail bone.
We also like Going on a Lion Hunt.
We're all super fans of Shel Silverstein too, sometimes he kidnaps kids, or tells them to not do their jobs, so I skip those poems. All of my kids get excited when I pick up the big white book with the pencil drawings.
I have several favorites (which I believe Dave would second me on). I love the George and Martha books (about two hippopotomi), and have always wanted to give them to someone as a wedding present because they offer such simple and excellent relationship observations.
I also love the Runaway Bunny (written and illustrated by the same people who did Goodnight Moon), mostly because it is about perseverance and unconditional love, which is a good thing to have in any relationship.
I have no specific suggestions, our boy just loves any with trucks & cars. He has one in particular that is a big dump truck, that is a big favorite.
I feel a little dumb saying this, but I'm a sucker for children's books. I think they're more entertaining than our "big kids" books most of the time. So, here's what I recommend...ahem:

"Stanley Goes Ape" - Griff
"Bumples, Fumdidlers, and Jelly Beans" - Arnold Spilka
Confession, I have quite the collection of children's books! But I am going to give you some old school favorites by Virginia Lee Burton, written during or right after the Depression. They were my mom's favorite children's books when she was young, and she loved to read them to us. The two we loved as children were "The Little House" and "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel".
And, of course, you can never go wrong with Dr. Suess!
