I love the photo of Avery with his new friends. He is as big as they are and they are treating him like a baby. It's adorable.

And I love your commentary on these paintings. I was just thinking about the beautiful silk(?) dress that Madame de Caumartin has on (I clicked the link), then I read your post about the painter's ability to replicate the sheen on the Marchesa dress. Pretty incredible and interesting to think about.
