Kindergarten Bound

I nearly cried when we went to the school to pick up his registration packet.

He asked me "Do I look like a tough guy?" Yes Avery, you do

I think Hawaii starts school pretty early. He will only be 4 when he starts! The plan is to start him in school now, then when we move to VA put him in whatever grade his age group is in. He might do 1st grade twice. I just really dont want him graduating from High School when he is only 17! When are your kids starting?

Did I mention its full day Kindergarten (except Wednesdays are half day)! What am I going to do without this boy everyday?
I have till August to figure it out...

Wow, that seems young! He'll love it though. Be prepared for a tired grumpy one for the first month or so. Full days take some getting used to, but my Joe started his when he was 3 and he did just fine. You'll miss him for sure. I still miss my boys and they're 10 and 8. Summers are the best!

Hold him back if you have to or look for a spanish imersion shcool that teaches the same curriculum but all in spanish that way he'll not get bored, learn a new language and graduate at 18. I wish I could hold my boys back cause it would suck to have that much time between school and mission. Mine are just gigantoes though and can't be held back without any social issues.

On the first day, bring tissues.

Awww, he's a doll. I think about him and his love of Star Wars every time I see something with Star Wars on it. :)

Wow, that is crazy young!! In Texas, they would not let your child start until he was 5... And the cutoff was Aug 31-- so both of my boys missed it by days. They got to stay home with me for an extra year which I am so grateful for now! They grow so fast!! But, I also love that they are near to the oldest children in their classes and keep up well with the work. Actually, we've found that their studies are about a year ahead of Utah and I've been toying with the idea of bumping them up a grade, they complain of boredom every day... Who knows?! But, at least you won't have to pay for preschool!! I think it's kind of Cool. Jeff started school at 4, graduated at 17, and he loved it. I was more like my boys-- I was almost 19 when I graduated.
