Portrait of a Baby

Avery at Shenandoah National Park. This was my first attempt at a portrait. I am happy with how it turned out and have more in the works! (this photo looks a little washed out compared to the real thing)

Oil on canvas.

Yeah!!! I just knew you would be a fabulous addition to the blogging world.

That painting is wonderful. How big is it - and have you found the perfect spot to hang it? Believe it or not after all of my art experience I have never worked with oils. You'll have to give me a lesson! I did just spend 5 hours at MJH's new office painting something cool that the painters we hired just couldn't manage to get right. Oh well, I actually had fun doing it. I wish I had more time to paint - good for you!

Beautiful! Children make amazing subjects. I've been working on a painting since the beginning of Jennie's pregnancy... don't know if I'll ever finish it.

I'm so happy that you're blogging, so when will Amy cave?

Dinner Belle-The painting is only 18x24 inches I think, so not very big. Right now it is hanging in Averys room above his crib. You should totally try oils they are the best, its like painting with butter. Come visit me and I will give you a lesson!!

Aut-

You have always been my favorite artist. I think you are incredible. I have never been much of a blog guy, but if it means I have a way to stay in closer touch with my displaced friends you can count me a convert.

Can't wait to see you again. Tell big guy and little guy hi for me.
