Flying at the Park

He loves to go high, he can even ask for "under dog!" (Daddy taught him that). Its been chilly here but it doesn't stop us from going to the park.

When Mom's Away...

I went out of town to St. Louis for a whole week and left my guys home. Brad was a great Mr. Mom (I was never even on isle 7!!) and Avery was a champ. They didnt just sit home and miss me, oh no. They were out adventurizing! Or as Avery says "a benture". Here are some photos of some of the things they have done recently.

Private Screening

Avery hosted a private screening of Land Before Time for all his dino buddies. He carefully arranged them making sure everyone could see.

We are in the middle of a major dinosaur craze, or as Avery says "dinoshore". He knows all their names, T-Rex, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, Dimetridon,  and of course the favorite stegosaurus. He knows more, but I can never remember them all!

Artsy Aut's Arsty Boy

We have really tapped into our creative side over here! Avery has developed a love of paints just like his Mama. Although he prefers to "paint the water" rather than the paper but we are working on it. Oh and I don't usually paint topless either-we didnt want any stains! He had a great time and he painted every page in that book! Good job Avery!

In a world of his own

I love to watch him play in his own world. I love the conversations the cars have. Some are bad and have time out, some give hugs and kisses, some make animal sounds, and some just gab back and forth.

Water Baby

We aren't giving up on Summer yet! And with our pool open until the middle of October we don't have to!

Today while we were in the pool Avery stood up and shouted, "I wuv (love) bwoo (blue) Mom! I wuv bwoo cars!" Now I know, I guess he thought I didn't.

Future Pilot

Andrews Air Force Base Joint Services Air Show 2008
This one has teeth! (dont worry he was nice)
He was SOOOO excited to be there. He kept yelling, and I mean yelling, "AIRPLANE!! JET!!!"
I love this picture taken out on the tarmac.  He loved the open space to just run.  There were alot of Military people there in uniform and Avery kept saying "Oh Hi" to them. Everyone was really nice and talked to him.
He really liked this big "copter"
Avery showing off his jumping skills.  He was so excited he just kept jumping and skipping
In a Coast Guard Helicopter. The pilots were so nice, they were trying to make him laugh!

Highlights of the show were the helicopter that did backflips! Helicopters arent supposed to be able to do that! And my favorite the F-22 RAPTOR.  Coincidentally Avery was wearing a shirt that said RAPTOR on it.  The plane is seriously the coolest thing every created.  It did a slow fly by, crazy, then it like hovered almost, and then it would do the fast fly by.  It is amazing. I could keep going on and on about all the cool stuff we saw.  I felt very patriotic.  It was a really great trip and fun to show Avery some of our countries finest!

Spring!

We came across a little caterpillar on a walk yesterday. He liked it but about 2 seconds after this picture was taken he was off chasing some birds-his real outdoor favorite.

One of my absolute favorite things about spring are all the daffodils that pop up everywhere.  We came across this patch of flowers when we went to see the cherry blossoms.  Thanks to our good friend who snapped this photo!

Avery is now 18 mo and he cracks us up everyday.  He is really becoming a little chatter box.  Some of his favorite sayings are...

"Oh Man!" Said with alot of feeling.

"Are you Okay?" He asks himself this anytime he falls, gets bumped, or anything that startles him. It is funny.

"See You" then runs to the door pretends to leave then comes back and I have to say "welcome back!" and we do it over and over again.

He has also learned my name is Autumn.  When I leave the room or he is alone in his crib he will stand up and yell "AUUUUUDAAAA"

"Good boy" he says this anytime he hands me something. It took a while to figure this one out!

Portrait of a Baby

Avery at Shenandoah National Park. This was my first attempt at a portrait. I am happy with how it turned out and have more in the works! (this photo looks a little washed out compared to the real thing)

Oil on canvas.
