Chinese fashion, I love it!

I love how this magazine looks just like a magazine I might get in my mailbox, except for the not being able to read Chinese characters and all.  My favorite thing about this magazine is it reads back to front, what we would think is the back cover is actually the front (this is because that is how Chinese characters are read, not left to right like English). I love this because I always read magazines back to front, my mom does it and I always have always done it that way too. The paper is also really thick and glossy, perfect!

I wanted to show you all some of the pages inside so you can see how cool it is.

You saw the cover in the last post, so crisp and clean. I wish I knew what the name would be in English.

Tiffany's is just as beautiful in Chinese

This little tutorial cracked me up. It shows how to curl hair with a curling iron. What is so funny is how detailed it is. There are 5 steps just showing how to roll the curling iron up your hair!

These outfits look so cute! I think I would wear them all.

Gifts from the East

All I can say is, Brad knows me so well. He brought me the perfect presents from his trip to China!  Check them out:

These pearls are the perfect size, and I promise, you have never seen a prettier pearl! He picked the pearls, and he picked the clasp then they put them together. They are a great length too, not too "old" looking.

The earrings are beautiful! Ahhh, I could look at them all day!

Two beautiful and super soft wraps. He chose these colors, and they are perfect. (It seems like everyone chooses cream for me. Its kind of funny. But even as I sit here and type I am wearing a cream colored shirt, so I guess it makes sense!)

I love to read magazines, I have subscriptions to too many, but somehow I find time to read them all, even the pottery barn catalog! So this was a thoughtful gift! More on this one later...

It was hard to have him gone, but I did get some fun things when he got back. Who wouldn't send their husband away for a while if he brings back pearls?

The Envelope Is Open!

Since Brad was out of town for the ultrasound, I had the tech girl write the sex of the baby on a post it and seal it up. It sat on my dining room table for a few weeks before we were finally all together (I swear I didnt peek!!)  We opened it over Thai food overlooking the ocean in Haleiwa. It was so fun! We are excited to have a brother join the family!

Island in the Sun

This post is coming to you from the middle of the pacific (you cant say that everyday!)

Life on the island has been fantastic! I've soaked up the sun (with 50 spf sunblock of course), swam in the ocean, eaten shave ice, smelled the hibiscus and plumeria blossoms, seen the flamingos at the zoo, and enjoyed every minute of it. Here are a few of the many photos we have managed to take during all our playing...

I finished the blanket, now where's the baby?

I have been working on this little blanket for a while now, and I love how it turned out. I did small 3" squares with fleece on the back. Instead of tying it, which is what I normally do, I took the advice of my friend Amber and sewed with my machine along the seams to sort of quilt it. It is so soft and feels so nice!

So the blanket is done, but I have to wait for July for the baby. Yep, we are adding a baby to our family in July and I think he/she will love this little togi, as Avery calls it (togi is his blanket).

It has yellow, white, yellow gingham, and monkey with green leaves flannel, and cream soft squares with hearts.

The back is banana peals, it goes with the monkey theme on the front. I think it goes, does it? Too late now!

Big brother with the "togi"

And finally for your viewing pleasure, here is a photo of Avery's latest trick, two sippie cups at once! I'm so proud. But seriously who drinks water and milk at the same time!
